This great floating biological media from Helix Life Support is used in the Helix Moving Bed Waterfall Filter and the Helix Bio Mechanical Reactor. This floating media is one of the best! A conservative estimate of the specific surface area is 550 square feet of surface area per cubic foot of media. In properly submerged and aerated conditions, it is common to get up to 900 square feet per cubic foot of media.
